Coole Acres Fishery

This purpose built fishery is located in the beautiful and relaxing South Cheshire countryside on Coole Lane – midway between the town of Nantwich and the village of Audlem.

There are three stunning lakes to choose from, and these are stocked with a wide range of fish in sizes to suit both the relaxing pleasure angler and the seasoned sport and specimen angler.

During the fishery design and build process it was a particular priority to make provision for local wildlife, and the fishery now counts a large number of returning species to site which have not been resident for perhaps the last two centuries.These include numerous bird species, a very good number of bee species and numerous butterfly and moth species.

The fishery provides impressive site facilities, including high quality toilets (including disabled), and high quality showers.

We believe you can be assured that your fishing sessions will be both enjoyable and comfortable – although, of course, we cannot ever guarantee our beloved UK weather!

Coole Acres Fishery is simply the perfect place to spend a day on the pool chasing carp or tench and silverfish. If targeting specimen Carp and Wels Catfish (on Fox Lake), you can add night sessions to your day sessions to create 24 hour/36 hour/48 hour sessions – or even longer.

The Lakes

The three lakes at Coole Acres Fishery are designed to cover a wide range of angling needs and skills. All the lakes offer Day Sessions 7 days a week from 8:00 am until 8:00 pm. Fox Lake This is the specimen lake with Carp, Wels Catfish, Roach and Chub. The carp range to more than 30lb and the Wels Catfish to more than 45lb. Due to the size and type of fish on offer this lake also offers Night Sessions from 8:00 pm until 8:00 am. These sessions are also available 7 days a week and can be combined with Day Sessions.

Spanner Lake This is our pleasure lake with Carp, Roach, and Chub. The Carp are smaller than those in Fox Lake with sizes ranging from “bars of soap” to more than 15lb.

Lodge Lake This lake is for Tench specialists but also includes Crucians, Roach and Chub. There are a few Ghost Carp up to 10lb in this lake and Tench sizes range to more than 8lb.

There have been reported sightings of this venomous fish in the UK waters The lionfish has around foot-long spines that are filled with very potent venom. In addition, the lionfish has fins shaped like fans, and they rapidly move through the water by waving their fins. Furthermore, lionfish have floating tentacles that give them a soft appearance. However, one must not be deceived by the beautiful looks of this deadly fish. These specific species of fish are native to the South Pacific and the Indian Ocean. Also, variants of the lionfish species are common in the waters of Australia, South Korea, and Japan. Lionfish is a voracious eater that preys on smaller fishes and shrimp. Their venom-filled spines have enough toxins to paralyse and kill human beings. If a lionfish attacks a human, its toxins can cause severe pain, sweating, respiratory issues, and paralysis in extreme cases. Recently, a Welsh angler landed a lionfish off the coast of Dorset. This is the first-ever sighting of lionfish in the UK waters. Afron Summers, 39, was fishing with his 75-year old father on the Chesil Beach in Dorest in the hopes of landing a triggerfish. Instead, however, the fisher was startled to see that he had caught a venomous lionfish. The lionfish had thirteen venomous spines and had colourful stripes. However, as the lionfish is an invasive species in the UK waters, Afron did not let the fish go as it might endanger other living species in the ocean. Experts are working to figure out the reasons why these predatory fish have invaded the oceans in the UK. A representative from the Angling Trust’s South West branch issued a warning to all the enthusiastic fishers and anglers to be very careful and told them to be on the lookout for the next few weeks. Perhaps of more immediate concern is the catastrophic impact Lionfish can have on fragile marine ecosystems.
