FISHBUDDY DIRECTORY - Fishbuddy Directory

The joys of fishing should be enjoyed by everyone. It’s about so much more than just catching a fish. It allows us to relax in the great outdoors. It’s a space to unwind, be in nature and have fun. It’s also a chance for families to get outside together, for friends to get competitive with each other and for people of all ages to make new friends.

That’s why National Fishing Month will run from 24 July to 30 August 2021. We’re encouraging everyone in the angling community to get more people involved in the sport we love. Hundreds of events have been scheduled across the country for people to learn the basics. Many of them may have never fished before.

We want our country’s wonderful waterways to feel an open and inviting place for everybody. National Fishing Month events and activities will be showcasing the fact that fishing is an accessible activity that absolutely anyone can take up and enjoy. There are many family-friendly and wheelchair-accessible events on the calendar.

We like to say that having a fishing licence gives you a licence to chill. We want everyone to sample that feeling, so these events will be free to attend, and licence waivers are in place so you can sign up and give fishing a go. So invite others along or encourage them to attend a local event, where they will learn a new skill and make new friends. We hope they catch the buzz and buy a licence to continue fishing for a long time to come.
